The characteristic and antibiotic susceptibility of 100 strains of Staphylococci isolated from the various lesions of patients from the general hospitals in Seoul area were studied. The characteristics of current strains of Staphylococci wereias follows.
1. Among 100 strains the coagulase positive were 99%.
2. The positive strains of mannitol fermentation were 94%.
3. The white colony forming organism were 13%, and yellow one were 8750´0, and hemolysis positive strains were 40%.
4. Ampicillin resistantistrains were 88%, Cephalothin 70%, Chloramphenicol 9/, Penicillin G 995,16, and Tetracycline 72%.
5. Only methicillin of 5%, antibiotics except Penicillin Gwas sensitive to the organisms, and antibiotics most often resistant to the organisms were Penicillin G and Tetracycline.
